This family needed more usable space — and their underutilized screen porch was the perfect opportunity for a Retriever Remodeling transformation.

The original screen porch featured worn decking, basic screening, and no climate control, making it feel dated and unusable for much of the year — especially not ideal for homeschooling or everyday family living.

We fully enclosed the porch and transformed it into a bright, year-round Carolina room. The project included closing in one of the doorways, framing new walls, and installing premium vinyl casement windows that flood the space with natural light while beautifully framing the wooded views. We added a mini-split HVAC system for consistent comfort no matter the season.

Inside, the transformation truly shines with new dark hardwood flooring, fresh paint, a stylish ceiling fan, and custom-built white cabinetry and shelving that seamlessly integrates with the home. What was once an open, exposed porch now feels like a natural extension of the house — polished, functional, and full of character.

The result? A dedicated, comfortable learning space for the kids that the whole family enjoys every day — a true tail-wagging success.
